model's body or Demis

My personal brand has become more of a blog site where I express my opinion on body image and fashion. Eating Disorders are on the rise and I want to be someone that could/can change someones mind towards body image. I have a great passion for health, fashion and P.R and when I came across W magazine and the cover image I was shocked. The first thing that came to my mind was BAD P.R and the second was young girls are going to see this. I like to think that it is not what it seems; however, either way it looks bad for W magazine. Demi Moore is a popular actress and famously known for her marriage with Ashton Kutcher. She was put on the cover of W magazine just last month. What has shocked most of the fashion world is Demi Moores head is reported to be on a models body. There is no prove that the image on the cover is not of Demi Moore; however, the image of the model and Demi's body are the same in many ways. It takes me back to the question I ask so much, why society is obsessed with image and being so skinny. Just a few months ago Ralph Lauren a very popular designer posted an image of a size 8 model air bushed to look like a size 2. I am a huge fan of Ralph Lauren and W magazine and it upsets me to think that we allow this to happen. I am not against skinny models, I am against having only skinny models and letting that image take over the world. We all know no matter what the size of Demi on the cover of the magazine most fans and readers would have bought that month's issue, without any air bushing or replacing of her body. Models should be all sizes and colours yet we don't allow that. It seems to be morally wrong to have plus size models on the cover of a magazine. The more we fight for things such as the Ralph Lauren ad or Demis cover the less this will happen, in result making the percentage of eating disorders go down. We are not being a positive role model to young girls or boys. Runway shows are known to only have skinny models but now magazines that are sold at our local grocery stores and on billboards around the world. The situation is a rising concern and it needs to end.
